Unlike a hosted compressor, this tool keeps your document on device the entire time. The compression guide explains that the Wasm module "loads once when the page opens" and "after that the network goes quiet." Savings come from recompressing and downsampling embedded images, so scanned or image-heavy PDFs shrink the most while text-only files change little.
